Trying a new place can feel like the hardest part — not the running, just the not knowing. Kanu Wine Estate is one of those venues that helps you exhale the moment you arrive. Open space. Vineyard views. A quiet dam. Trails that feel wild but cared for.

The route here is a 5km that asks a little of you — just enough to feel proud when you finish — and then rewards you properly. Shade, space to sit, and time to slow down again.

If you’re running, you’ll be supported all the way. If you’re waiting for someone, there’s space to wander, putt a few balls, or relax near the water.

And when you’re done? Kanu’s wines are waiting — because finishing well matters.

Relaxed Run

If you are looking for a fun, relaxed day running or walking through a wine farm then this is for you. Choose your own Start Time, anytime from 07.00 am to 09.30 am. No groups, no crowds, just you and nature … and you can sleep in late.

The Race

General Information

You will love your Aid Station. Containers will have Spring Water (from Cape Aqua) one plain, one with lemon and mint. You need to have a water bottle or soft cup. There will also be fruit portions and jelly sweets and Salted Potatoes.

  • Entries are from R 80 to R 280.
  • You can include a bottle of wine with your entry.
  • There are on the day entries at this event.
  • Every entry receives a puzzle medal.
  • Every entry receives a bottle of Spring Water.
  • Unfortunately no dogs allowed.
  • The 5km is Pram friendly.
  • Free wine tasting.
  • Lots of lucky draw prizes.

Kanu Wines

Founded in 1692 as part of the famous Nooitgedacht farm, Kanu underwent various changes and an accumulation of history to become what it is today. As of 1997, the land and the wines became known as Kanu. 

With the Kanu name comes the Kanu Promise: that each wine made by Kanu, no matter the price point, is made in such a way that it will always deliver on quality and flavour
